(Please note: Venue has been changed to The Parish Hall at Christ Church)
Generative AI is a type of AI that can create new content and ideas, including conversations, stories, images, videos, and music. It is a multi-purpose technology with numerous applications in education. It is being used as a writing tool, a reading aid, an assessment resource, and a chatbot that provides feedback and supports idea generation. Professor Worwood will examine how AI is transforming the creative processes and what this means for the future of innovation. This presentation will discuss GenAI’s potential effects on the cognitive process and long-term implications for creativity in education.
Matthew Worwood is a full-time professor at the University of Connecticut and an experienced learning designer with a passion for fostering innovation. Matthew blends design thinking, creativity, and adult learning theory to support transformative teaching practices. Matthew’s research is focused on teacher creativity in the age of generative AI. He leads Digital Media CT, a statewide initiative in higher education to train the next generation of professionals in film, television, and digital media.
Professor Worwood received his doctorate at Johns Hopkins University, where he focused on the intersection of technology and creativity in teaching and learning environments.
