All welcome, no cost to attend this annual drop-in event geared towards our youngest constituents, especially Girl Scouts grades PK - 12, to learn about local, state and national government and what small steps/roles youth can take to make an impact in their community.
Stations will be organized in an expo-style format for short presentations by the Women of the Town Government - BET, BOE, RTM, Selectpersons, and other elected officials - as well as representatives from the Connecticut State and National legislatures.
Several representatives from different political parties will engage, collaboratively and age appropriately, with our future leaders explaining the “who, what, where, when, how” about their role, their branch of government and shared interests that impact our community.
Additional stations to include 15-minute tours of Town Hall (which was Greenwich High School from 1925 - 1970), a station to buy Girl Scout cookies, vote for your favorite Girl Scout cookie and to which Town charity 500 Girl Scout cookies will be donated as well as stations to learn more about history of women voting and how to register to vote.
Dress for the weather. If the weather is fair, the event will take place outdoors on the front steps of Town Hall, otherwise, we will take over the Town Hall meeting room. Attend with your parent/guardian or troop leader.
