A sponsor of this resolution along with Democratic Senator Alex Kasser, Democrat Steve Meskers voted in favor. Republicans Harry Arora and Kim Fiorello voted against.
The resolution did not secure a super majority of 75% to send the issue to the voters in referendum in 2022. If it is raised again in the next session, it will require only majority support to do so.
